Disney World

October 25, 2006 / by rayofsunshine

We are planning a trip to Orlando, yahoo!!!
Some tips:
1. The least crowded times are EARLY December and November (except Thanksgiving), February, and mid & LATE January. The MOST crowded seasons are June through August when kids are off of school and Christmas week.
2. I LOVE the Pop Century Resort. It is newer, very festive, whimsical, beautiful, and enchanting! That is my favorite resort.
3. If you stay at a Disney resort, they will take you there from the Orlando airport, but arrangements must be made.
4. Always always always make reservations and plans as early as possible.
5. My favorite character dining is the Garden Grill at Epcot.
6. At Epcot, it is wise to enjoy the World Show Case as soon as it opens - it gets more congested as the day goes on.
7. Different parks are open later and earlier on selected days for resort guests only. Be sure to get the schedule. If you do not stay at a Disney resort, visit the park with extended hours on a different day because it will be crowded. If you do stay at a Disney resort, be sure to enjoy the extended hours - you can get a lot done, but go to a different park during regular hours. For example, if Animal Kingdom is open later for resort guests only, go to a different park during the day and visit the Animal Kingdom as soon as it closes to everyone other than resort guests.
8. If you stay at a Disney Resort, definitely purchase the dining deal. It is much more cost effective.
9. The best way to get a discount is to either live in Florida or be an AAA member.
10. To avoid long lines on exhibits and rides, eat meals during odd hours. For restaurants that accept reservations, always make one as early as possible.
11. Allow time to check everything out. You will never know what you missed out on.
12. Tickets are cheaper per day the more days that you purchase.
13. Selected Disney resorts have fine dining, spas, bike riding, canoeing, and jet skis. Check it out!
14. Take as many pictures as you can.
15. We almost always visit the first week of December and have a blast! Going in the summer months in hot and there is less time because it is super busy.
16. Definitely MUST ride Soarin' at Epcot and go to the World Show Case. Be sure to ride the Expedition at Animal Kingdom. At MGM studios, see Fantasma. At the Magic Kingdom, go on Space Mountain and the Carousal of Progress.
17. Be sure to get a map and show schedule from guest relations when you arrive at the park.
18. If you stay in a Disney Resort, you can have merchandise purchased delivered right to your room.
19. Bring an extra suitcase on your way there so that you will have room for everything you purchase.
